10 pounds and one month

Today marks Tradd's one month birthday! Exactly one month ago on June 24, 2009, my little boy entered this world! So far, he has been a completely different baby than Evangeline. Around this time, Evangeline started getting colicky and was very fussy pretty much all day everyday. She always wanted to be held, and we ended up sleeping with her in our bed way more than we would have liked. Tradd fusses only when he is hungry or wet, or when he gets overly tired and just cant seem to sleep. The only exception to this is if he has horrible gas and we all know that does not feel well.. so can you blame him?! So far, he is a pretty good sleeper. For the past 2 nights Tradd has woken up twice, eaten, and gone back to sleep in his bassinet. The night before, he slept until 1 am and then we were up until 5am. Silly me didn't GO to sleep until 12:00, so needless to say I had a very long night! Thank goodness Drew let me sleep in that morning while he took the kids. But the norm for him is to eat around 11, sleep until 2 or 3, and then again at 5 and we are normally up around 7:45 -8:00.

Anyway, I weighed my little man yesterday and can you believe he is already up to 10 pounds! No more newborn clothes for him!

I alsp weighed Evangeline and can you believe she is already up to 32 pounds!!!! She is wearing 2T clothes still but they are getting snug... so on to the 3T clothing!

Oh, I forgot to mention in earlier posts another difference between the kids that we noticed right off the bat. When Evangeline was born, her head circumference was ALWAYS in the 97th percentile... OUCH, I know. With Tradd, we went for his 2 week check up and the doctor said his head was only in the 35th! THAT'S why my dleivery was so easy! LOL.

I wanted to end this post thanking my husband for giving me two of the most beautiful children around. I don't know how I even had a life before they were in it. Sure, it can be stressful and tiring... but it's also the most rewarding thing I have ever done. Evangeline surprises me everyday with her ability to learn so quickly, her bright smiles and contagious laughter. Even her independence, sassiness, and assertiveness lets me know that I must be doing something right (and trust me, she expresses her feelings A LOT). Tradd is the observer... he lays by himself and observes the world around him... probably thinking to himself "what the hell is going on here! Its chaos!" But that's our life, and I wouldn't have it any other way!
